This immersive installation explored contemporary approaches to traditional crafts, showcasing intricately woven baskets crafted from materials sourced in Edinburgh. The exhibit also included an enriching audio experience, original botanical illustrations and a complementary booklet highlighting the significance of craft as an art form.

While working on these pieces, I recorded conversations with other local foragers and weavers, such as William Mackaness, who kindly taught me how to weave with willow and Elly Kinross, who is working on a Forager's Forest in Craigmillar.

Historically, baskets were crafted from easily accessible materials, giving each one a unique tie to a place. Each basket is more than just a basket. The accompanying audio gave people a chance to experience sounds of harvesting and processing, while the booklet gives an insight into each basket.
